I am partial to #Hemp 4 #Phytoremediation and everyone who knows me knows that I spend a lot of my personal research in California appreciating Hemp as a medicine... I think a weekly topic for discussion such as #DidYouKnow... #Hemp is for Building with a link to the research and use of Hempcrete etc. and then Hempsters around the globe can share their links and feedback each week- #DidYouKnow #Hemp is for #Eating, etc. just trying to think of a way for this page to be different than other fan pages in terms of aggregating new content and culling it in a meaningful way for sharing purposes - like a syllabus or living open source workbook of sorts for the year- particularly because I have found that there is some really radical research already existing about issues like whether or not Cannabis can eradicate cancers and studies in the Czech and Israel that are simply not being shared or cited in other countries so it would be nice to bridge that gap with a continuing dialogue- Keep up the great work everybody!

Hempcrete is a biocomposite

formed with Lime and Hemp Shiv. It is renewable, recyclable and sustainable. It makes quiet, energy efficient housing (R30-R50 insulation) with no synthetic materials and an excellent 2-hour fire rating.

The walls breathe inhibiting the formation of mold and mildew causing no asthma or allergies. No “sick building syndrome” forcing premature demolition.

$65,000 of hemp shiv, lime binder and lime render were imported from England - money that could go to American farmers and producers. Approximately 4 acres of hemp were used.

Water, Lime and Shiv are lightly mixed in a conventional mortar mixer. The mixture is lightweight and easily skidded around the site.

When dry, a special lime-based hard render exterior is applied similar to stucco.

The brick face was specially designed to maintain breathability.

Annual energy savings is about $900 per year.

When dry, hempcrete is about a seventh of the weight of cement. It floats in water. Material is poured between forms and tamped down. It sets up sufficiently to pull forms in as little as an hour. The material is light and can be passed bucket-brigade fashion to workers on scaffolding.

With forms removed, the walls are protected from rain for a week and kept moist to control the curing.

Hempcrete can be applied as loose-fill insulation. The attic is filled 12” of loose fill. The mixture uses less binder, but the lime continues to provide the fire rating.

The curtains are removed and the walls are left to dry and cure.

The house absorbed about 14 tons of CO2. Hempcrete can last a thousand years sequestering carbon all the while.

Hemp for Phytoremediation

Hemp roots go deep to pull contaminants up into the canopy.

Hemp absorbs heavy metals like Lead, Cadmium and even radioactive Cesium.

The metals concentrate in the leaves. Stalks and seed are little affected.

Dried leaves can be crushed to reduce volume and trucked away for disposal.

Stalks can be processed in the conventional manner for fiber. Seed might be safe for animal feed.

Hemp is being used to remediate Radioactive Cesium at Chernobyl. Fukushima is also studying it.

America’s Hanford, WA site is not allowed to use Hemp.

Containment Booms

Florida has experienced oil spills on our beaches just from shipping accidents in our ports. Many Floridians filed claims in the aftermath of the Deepwater Horizon Spill.

Hemp is very absorbent. The hemp core can be blown into simple netting material to make containment booms from all natural fiber for about a quarter of the price of synthetic booms.

Florida can produce enough hemp to make a hundred thousand miles of 12” boom - enough to surround many Deepwater Horizon spills. It can be stored and shipped on large reels and cut to size for the immediate need. It is lightweight and can be flown to disasters.

There is no reason barges of inexpensive boom material can’t be stored in all our ports ready for immediate deployment.

The used material can be incinerated or composted depending on the material contained. But Paul Stamets, a noted mycobiologist, has shown that the best way to remove oil is to plant wood eating fungii. Oyster mushrooms work the best, and hemp core is woody material. Paul uses hemp rope inoculated with oyster mushroom spores as the starter medium for his mushroom farm.

It’s possible you could eat the next oil spill. Or maybe you’d rather eat the last one...

This isn't a word by word quote in the order we talked about things, its just how my mind seemed to examine and digest the wisdom before I make a financial mistake and how I've solved a few of the issues needed to address and overcome that he mentions in re to the MOhemp Energy Mobile Processing Station.

(1) the USA market is not ready for mass use from end users of Industrial Hemp in America.

(2) Competition from outside USA where labor is cheap in production of (example) Hemp fibers or hurds makes for a tough sale in USA. Especially since we don't manufacture much and demand is low right now.

(3) Hemp is so disruptive to so many businesses our Govt would rather pass Medical cannabis than Industrial Hemp -which is completely backwards to conventional wisdom.

(4) Hemp products are/is expensive in USA. If for example Hemp became legal to grow Nationwide the price of seeds would go sky high due to supply and demand and there wouldn't be enough seeds to meet this demand.

(5) There are existing Canadian buyers of Hemp Hurds but the price is so low because of the existing Lumber supplies that are fulfilling and meeting this need right now- is what prohibits a more widespread use of Hemp OSB panels.

He mentioned more but I feel that is enough background from someone who has 15 plus years more experience than myself in the Hemp and Flax Industry.

Now I see why it is important to have Advisers to a startup and I realized a few things that I have done wrong in presenting my startup business plan, that has been evolving night and day as I put the final pieces of the puzzle together.

• I need to do a better job of explaining the MOhemp Energy system and processes of the Mobile Processing System that eliminates the $14,000,000 Hemp processing plant- such as the one planned in Oklahoma.

• The Numbers not the Inventions need to clear and understandable.

• I have to have end product users (pre-arranged). More than likely this is supplying an existing manufacture a raw material.

how I have considered and overcame all his suggestions

by the Mobile Hemp Processing System. The only thing

I've yet to solve is the end product buyers.

They will be the last piece needed to the puzzle.

Big clue today July 31, 2016: Ukraine- lots of Hemp seeds, needs income. Russia, cut aid to Ukraine. I'm putting 2+2 together.

I predict: Hemp For Victory Round 2, Spring Planting 2016.

Bringing back Industrial Hemp will jump-start American jobs and Small business and Make it disruptive to the existing biz as usual for American Big Companies- who also are the Republicans Repukitans base for the $$$ polluting the Politics of the USA.

Taking power away from big businesses who are and did sell out the American workers by outsourcing jobs overseas. President Obama realizes this and also realizes that by legalizing both Medical and Industrial Cannabis he is ultimately giving the people a fighting chance against the powers who have keep the average Americans struggling and under the thumb of Big Business Interest and overshadowed their voices in Washington and Life in the real World.

Will Hemp For Victory Round 2 be the cure all for America's Ills? Maybe not all but it will damn sure help a few. And I personally can't wait to work directly with the Farmers who will lead the resurgence of American Productivity and jobs that all start on the Farm! The added benefits will be the lessening of the grip that big business has on Washington.

Remember all these new Industrial Hemp and Medical Cannabis ventures are small new disruptive businesses that will take the power or $ money $ out of the big business coffers.
