It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that synthetic CBD in most cases comes from reprogrammed Streptococcus and modified yeast, and that's before we get to washing with Thiocyanide!

Seriously, let's look at other words that mean 'synthetic': Artificial, bogus, dummy, factitious, fake, false, faux... I could go on, but I think you get the picture. None of that says 'real'!

Is it me, am I the only one to be concerned by cannabinoid facsimiles?

My latest Hemp Product Safety Research into the ingredients listed on the CBD products being sold by a well known TV person with Hollywood Actors offering their supposed product reviews.

This is post 1 of a series labeled Hemp Safety Research Gummy  that also correlates with other hemp safety posts i have made in re on this blog in addition to the phytoremediation abilities of the great Cannabis Plants and its Ditch-weed Cousin industrial Hemp..

How can ingredients that I can't even pronounce be healthy? 

This is the ingredient list from a CBD gummie advertisement. What I was looking for in re to this product was the 3rd Party Independent testing info of the plant prior to it being made into CBD.

Call me skeptical or over cautious and I'll agree with you, While nodding my head. I will also look you in the eye and ask- what has the: Medical Industry, Hollywood Actors, Television Spokespeople, Politicians, Main Street Media, FDA, The Agriculture Industry, and or Corporate America ever done that does not have a motive that places the profits over the people?

I was tempted into trying this product.  It's $6 price tag for the CBD gummies and a Tweet from a great friend for an unrelated CBD product enticed  me to click the web link.

After I read a few lines on the Flashy Website, I could feel the inner alarm bells were warming up. And by the time I had read the "same ole, same ole" ad campaign from a celebrity review / spokesperson. Those alarm bells were blarring. 

(To be continued) I'm using my cell phone and it's not the easiest thing for me one thumb type out.  There is more to this story. I'm not done researching, feel the product is safe, or know enough about the only listed product ingredient I can pronounce easily.

I also hope to get Paul's opinion and insight on the ingredients and or product. CBD extraction methods and any other truth bits and advice he may have.

CBD -Cannabinoids: Sex and Gender

The FDA seminar, “CBD and Other Cannabinoids: Sex and Gender Differences in Use and Responses,” was organized by the agency’s Office of Women’s Health and featured FDA staff MDs, Ph. Ds and non-FDA academic and institutional research scientists. Other observations from the seminar indicate the current path for the FDA:

• Research is not only likely to find that CBD is not harmful, but also reveal many benefits that can be identified and warranted scientifically, and a few uses that should be avoided.
• Standards are needed to help inform the public about the use and benefits of CBD in proper concentrations and formulations; speakers expressed frustration that “without regulation there is a lot of junk out there.”Some speakers stressed that “prohibition laws inhibit research,” citing examples with alcohol prohibition in the 1920s and other prohibited substances since then, including cannabis. There was acknowledgment that “some legal substances (alcohol and cigarettes) are more harmful than many illegal substances.”
• Both FDA and non-FDA experts noted some potential harms from very large doses of CBD and some concerns on how its use might affect pregnancy and lactation, as well as, interestingly, male reproductive health.
• Existing studies tend to acknowledge anecdotally assumed benefits. Further studies should be encouraged to check anecdotal claims regarding pain management, anxiety, sleep disorders and other problems. Scientists urged basic research to understand proper use and dosing.

Canna Safety and CO2 Extraction

With all the reports of contaminants and toxins from pesticides, heavy metals, etc that are in Cannabis products these days- where some are caused by cannabis phytoremediation abilities.  I requested information from a CO2 Extraction equipment manufacturer in re to contaminants and toxins and what happens during the CO2 extraction process.

 Here are the first round of questions I submitted:

1) can or will the CO2 extraction system separate and remove these somehow or will the contaminants get concentrated by the system?

3) in the case of my planned phytoremediation project where I'll be using plants to clean up a Superfund full of Nuclear Waste and Heavy Metals and your equipment is used how would you suggest the system be "decontaminated"  or would I have to have 2 CO2 extraction systems- one for phytoremediation project and one for normal cannabis grow op?

If any MOhemp blog reader has additional info or suggestions please let me know.  It's plainly obvious canna-safety should be addressed.

Helping or Harming

in the Cannabis world of Media Manipulation and Political maneuvering where it sure looks: Canna-Safety comes last on the list.

Arthur proposes, to safely use Cannabis Sales for the $monetary$ cash cow it is becoming. With baseline: guidelines, rules, best growing practices, etc.  The entire cannabis industry can easily be proactive vs reactive to known problems and by sharing truth.

It's plain to see the authors fears are justified when observing the actions around the fledgling industry by being an objective outsider (who is also working on a cannabis startup- MOhemp Energy) that monitors what so many of the Cannabis Industry Players, Federal- State- Local government agencies, the short-sighted Politicians, and other Canna players- and everyone else who is just greedily anticipating the future Millions of Dollars in income and The TaxMan scheme's the income generation that will be coming into their Bank accounts and political coffers.

Lack of Canna-Safety oversight, is basically- throwing everyone's Personal Health and Safety under the bus.

Unfortunately many of the unaware and uninformed cannabis consumers who may feel Cannabis is Mother Nature's gift to mankind. fail to realize the products they're using and the techniques used in the production of cannabis consumables are full of chemicals, toxins, and contaminants that are known hazards and detrimental to people's health. The blessing and curse of Cannabis Plants Phytoremediation abilities

In the 3 examples above it matters not to a cannabis plant where the toxins come from. A cannabis plant will naturally bioaccumulate and absorb both pollutants and helpful minerals from any soil, water, or air it comes in contact with. These under reported Cannabis Phytoremediation abilities are creating health risks to people who are consuming canna-products that are grown in environments that are full of toxic chemicals.
